March 2022 Newsletter

It seems such a long time since my last Newsletter and unfortunately, other things took priority – something called Christmas and New Year!!  I wasn’t able to wish you all a Happy New Year, but hope things are going well for you so far.

We in the Players were pleased with the reception of our December production ‘Make ‘Em Laugh’ and thank everyone who came.  The support enabled us to recoup some of the losses we suffered with the aborted production of ‘The Wizard Of Oz’ just as Covid derailed everything.

Sadly, we have to report that there will be no Spring Production from The Players this year.  We were unable to cast the originally proposed play and time is now against us.  However, we are now devising a new Murder Mystery which we hope to put on in October.  This will be in the usual format with a four-course dinner served at tables in the Hall while the action takes place around the tables between courses.  And, please look out for something from The Players in 2023.

In the meantime, we shall be holding our Annual General Meeting, postponed for two years, in the Small Hall on Thursday, 16th June at 7.30 pm.  There will be a glass of wine and a slice of pizza for all who come along, and we hope to present a slideshow of photographs from past productions to help us all to decide on content for our new website.

Please make a note of the date and come along if you are at all interested in The Players, particularly if you would like to take a more active role in running the group or acting, directing, or helping behind the scenes.  You will be very welcome.
