Obituary – Ray Terry

We were all saddened to hear of the death of Ray Terry in February.  Ray and his first wife, Sheila, first moved into a new house in Wilstead in early 1970.  They were part of the Morgan’s Close group who all bonded so closely, and were founder members of the Wilstead Players in 1971.

Ray began to work behind the scenes: building sets, stage managing, and taking on sound and lighting, as well as lending his expertise in printing and early photocopying.

Later, Ray took on the job of caretaker of the Village Hall and he and his second wife, Jane, became Honorary Patrons of Wilstead Players, with Jane taking on the Box Office for many years.

Ray could always be relied upon to carry out tasks with a high degree of efficiency and good humour and will be sadly missed by everyone in the village.
