Wilstead Players’ Newsletter – November 2022

At the time of writing we had already performed our Murder Mystery for 2022, ‘You’re Dead, Write’. We trust everyone who came along enjoyed the evenings and had fun playing detective, and we thank you for your support. Congratulations to the winners each evening.

Thanks must go to the caterers in the kitchen, Judy Jacobs and Angela Fosbrook, who never get to follow the plot or see any action, not forgetting their band of waiters and waitresses.  Also to Nigel Jacobs and his team in the bar who work so hard.

We are grateful too, of course, to Pete Tanswell who devised the plot, and to the cast who came from far and wide to take part.

By now rehearsals will have already begun for our next production with a title so long that we have abbreviated it to ‘Farndale: They Came From Mars….’. This will be presented on Thursday – Saturday, 11th – 13th May 2023, and should be great fun.

In the meantime, we are hoping to start off our Christmas celebrations with Carols around the Christmas Tree in the foyer of the Village Hall, with mince pies and mulled wine. If you’re interested in joining us please contact me or a committee member for more details.  At the time of writing, a date had not been organised.

Some good news – a birth to announce!  To James and Shannon Doughty, a son Arthur James Edward, weighing in at 7lbs 10ozs on September, 18th 2022 – welcome to the world!  For those that are not aware, James has recently become our Lighting and Sound Co-ordinator.  You may also remember James, who did a sterling job, acting in our production of ‘The Lady Vanishes’ in 2019.

Congratulations from Wilstead Players.
